Sh2-132

The emission nebula Sharpless Sh2-132, also known as the Lion Nebula is a HII emission region within in the constellation Cepheus. It is part of the Cep OB1 Association and located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy. The diffuse nebula is ionized by two Wolf-Rayet stars, HD 211564 and HD 211853, along with many O and B-type stars. There are a number of dark nebula present in Sh 2-132.

The distance to Sh2-132 is about 10.000 light-years or 3300 parsec.
